Honestly this is one of those cakes that I wish I had recorded the process...
...but it was also the kind of cake that required so much attention and was so mesmerizing to create that I didn't want to break away to set up the camera. I used a small palette knife to apply different shades of blue and yellow, then applied little golden star sprinkles, gold sugar, and gold leaf.
I had some people ask me what the topper was made of. The secret is just candy melts swirled together and cooled!
