Cake for the Fairies

I'm a redhead and I've always been proud of my Irish heritage and the origins of St. Patrick's Day are fascinating to me, but I've never been crazy about the aesthetic of St. Patrick's Day. The bright greens, the cheesy primary color rainbows, the goofy looking leprechauns, it's all just not my style. So I've had a bit of a tradition for myself of making cakes that go along with the magical theme of Irish fairytales in a more vintage style.

Last year I made a 2-tiered cake with a butterfly fairy and little mushrooms and flowers.

This year, I was inspired by a little glass butter dish from Ireland that my mom got for me. Instead of making a cake with a fairy on it, I made a cake for fairies in the butter dish which made the perfect tiny cake stand!
